You can control some of the variables: What you take in; how fast you consume calories (sedentary or exercise) while some of the "formulas" modify other factors such as metabolism. Also excretion can at least be modified with things such as laxatives and other practices which the anorexic/bolemic knows all too well.
This web site is devoted to the idea of simplicity and once you understand the ideas behind, you no longer need to go buy all the latest gimmicks. You may need some help in controlling excretion or waste metabolsim, but you understand the idea.
